Every single one of our customers have unique pallet designs and requirements. In addition, even companies with written specifications rarely receive what is called for. By seeing your pallets, we are able to:

1. Give you a true “apples to apples” bid

2. Give you ideas to save money and/or improve pallet performance

3. Ensure that your current supplier is adhering to your specifications

To ensure that we get the best lumber buys, we pay our suppliers within 10 days. Our normal credit terms are net 20 days with credit approval. Of course, we do offer discounts for 10 days, COD, and CIA.

Since we manufacture 100% new pallets, and each customer’s pallet specifications differ, we produce each pallet shipment to order. Our standard lead time for an order is five business days or before. If you are a new customer and desire terms, please allow for an additional two business days for a standard supplier credit check.

Yes, if they are properly certified HT. Please refer to our export section for more information.

Why do you need to see my pallets before you quote them?

Contrary to most impressions, pallets can be extraordinarily complicated animals. For any company that goes out to bid, we emphatically recommend outlining a detailed pallet specification. This would include measurements, lumber grades, and arrangement of all pallet components. Delivery schedules, quantities, and special requirements (like HT for exports) should be identified. Once all parameters are outlined, it is vital that all potential pallet suppliers are bidding this same pallet, and have the ability to keep up with your production demands.

I am going out for bid on my pallets. What steps should I take?

To reference the famous Latin phrase caveat emptor (buyer beware), you must be very cautious in selecting a supplier. In order to win the bid, it is not uncommon for other pallet suppliers to bid an unsustainably low price, and then to remove wood or change your specification in order to make money at profitable levels, unbeknownst you! At Hunter we are happy to suggest changes in specifications to save money or increase pallet performance. How we differentiate ourselves from many of our competitors is that your pallet specification will never change without your approval.

With all of your advantages, why isn’t your price the lowest on our bid?

Because yearly pricing will either a) put us out of business, or b) you will be paying too much for your pallets. The razor-thin margins of our business force us to adjust pricing periodically to keep up with the great unknown of our industry: the cost of lumber. Depending upon how your pallets are constructed, roughly half of  your pallet cost is lumber. Last year to date, the lumber market was very volatile, changing roughly 2 1/4% per week! Doing the math, you can see how we fight a constant battle to provide our customers with the most competitive pricing in the industry. As our customer, your price will rise and fall with the market, and we guarantee that in the long run, your average pallet price will be lower than any of our competitors. At the same time, you will be receiving the best pallet service and consistency in the industry.

Why can’t you provide yearly pricing?
